Oh, we do love the Star Ferry! But Hong Kong, a city of countless islands, has a dozen or more other little boats that are even more fun to discover. When you come on a Little Adventure in Hong Kong, we'll introduce you to some of our favorite ferry rides. Like this one:

Perfect roast pork? A restaurant in the middle of nowhere serving the best home cooked Cantonese food you ever tasted? A wild ride through wet markets and shops selling live snakes? Or a dim sum where the dishes arrive one by one, moving from wonder to wonder? Whatever you've been hoping to experience, cuisine-wise, in Hong Kong, we can help you make it happen. And we are very thrilled that the Wall Street Journal has recognized us as Hong Kong's go-to company for culinary tours. You can read their full article here...

Happy New Year! We're starting it in the most delicious way possible, by showcasing the latest blog post from Janice Leung, Little Adventures in Hong Kong's awesomely multi-talented senior associate (her blog is called e_ting the world and yes, you should bookmark it now!) Janice, who many of you have already met on our private food walks, knows everything about Hong Kong's food scene--mainly because not a day goes by when she isn't exploring some new restaurant, checking out some classic old noodle shop, tasting a new dish at a five star hotel. Now she's come up with her personal selection of Hong Kong's 20 Best Dishes of 2012. ...

About.com's Hong Kong correspondent, journalist Rory Boland has made our holiday season complete by choosing Little Adventures in Hong Kong as his top favorite Hong Kong private tour. You can read what Rory had to say about us here. (Thanks so much, Rory, for the kind review.)...

We're extremely lucky to have the multi-talented Paul Karl Lukacs on our Little Adventures in Hong Kong team. Paul's an entertainment lawyer who also happens to be a fan and thoughtful critic of international cinema (which includes classic Hong Kong film, of course). How big a fan is Paul? Well, let's just say that some of us choose a Hong Kong neighborhood to live in based on its transport and shops, but Paul chooses where he lives based on the proximity of a good movie theater!

Janice Leung, our Little Adventures in Hong Kong colleague and host extraordinaire, is also a food writer and a walking database of information on Hong Kong, Cantonese, and regional Guangdong cuisines (among other things!). We learn something new and insightful about Hong Kong's food and culinary culture every time we go out walking the markets with her.

Janice has just published a superb, authoritative article in the Australian magazine, Gourmet Traveller, about one of our favorite subjects: the classic old Hong Kong Cantonese dishes that have almost disappeared from restaurant menus. Not only does Janice track down and find modern-day versions of these great, rich, labor-intensive masterpieces of the Hong Kong culinary lexicon--she gives a terrific cultural history of these lost foods through her own research and interviews with top Hong...

Our good friend Hana sends this photo from her recent Sunday dim sum at Fu Sing restaurant in Wan Chai. When we stoppped spitting Hong Kong milk tea all over our keyboard, we emailed her to find out what happened here, and she told us, "This is what arrived when we played Dim Sum Roulette."

Dim Sum Roulette? For a second we were puzzled, but then we put two and two together and figured out what Hana and her pals had been up to. Here at Little Adventures in Hong Kong, we love the dim sum at Fu Sing Restaurant, and we go there a lot (if you come on one of our private guided food walks, we'll take you to Fu Sing, too!)....

Question: What famous Hong Kong tourist sites will you see when you come along with us on a Little Adventure in Hong Kong walking or food tour? ...

Ta da! Our new Little Adventures in Hong Kong website is now officially launched, and we're thrilled to welcome you to our new "look." Why a new website? Well, for the usual reasons--our company has grown and evolved since we started three years ago in 2009, and our old site wasn't keeping up with our changes. We have a terrific new team of hosts and consultants on board. And we have new services that we've added, because so many of our Little Adventures clients are either expats and executives based in Hong Kong, or international professionals from the art, media, and culinary worlds who come to us for a specific, targeted Hong Kong experience. So: new focus and services = new look. But what should it be? One of the reasons it took us so long to get around...

Our private Hong Kong walking and food experiences are designed for a special person. A person who wants more than a tour. You've decided to come to Hong Kong. Or perhaps you're living here already. You've read all the guidebooks, thank you. Maybe you've even joined a tour or two. But now you're looking for something more than a sightseeing trip. You're looking for someone to help you experience--and understand-- all the flavors of Hong Kong. You might be a food writer, foodie or culinary professional who wants to get straight to the best Cantonese food, and to the restaurants, noodle shops and street stalls that Hong Kong locals cherish. Or you might be a business person or executive contemplating a move to Asia, and you want on the ground insights into the history, architecture and politics of Asia's most multicultural...
